Montana's Big Sky Country - High on the Wild

A short two hour drive from Virginia City, Montana I found myself pulling up to the front door of the 14,000 square foot Montana High Country Lodge that looks out over the Pioneer Mountains. It lies in the Grasshopper Valley of Western Montana, with almost half a million acres of pristine back country on its doorstep.

If you like fly or tackle fishing, river float trips, mountain biking, trophy archery, game hunting or in winter snowmobiling then this is the region worth exploring. After visiting Elkhorn Natural Hot Springs I spent a few hours fly fishing with Russ, my host . . . you can see the results! Yes it was another tough day in the office. Go to: www.mhct.com

Grizzly Hackle in Missoula, Montana offer fly tackle and accessories and offer guided trips on the Clark Fork, Bitterroot River and Blackfoot River. Go to: www.grizzlyhackle.com
