For any business, standing still and maintaining a status quo can be its death knell; more so perhaps in our line of work. In 2013 we increased our distribution both in hard copy and in our digital versions; we also increased our Facebook and Twitter followers.

Pretty good, you might say! But, even after our design changes and significant growth last year, we thought, “We can do better”. We did a bit of a survey amongst some of our readers and asked, “What would you like to see us do in 2014? What extra content would you like to read?”

One of the more popular suggestions was to include a larger section each issue concentrating more in-depth on a particular destination.

Another was a Top 10 list.

So, like any smart business owners, we have listened! In this issue you will find two in-depth features detailing two of my favourite destinations of all time … Fiji and Anaheim/Orange County in Southern California.

Plus, as a lead-in to the Rugby World Cup (we’re down to around 600 sleeps!), in each issue from now on we’ll focus on one of the ten cities across England that will be hosting, giving you heaps of ideas of things to see and do before and after games…first up is Newcastle/Gateshead.
