Eating in Brisbane

Eating in Brisbane

Into my second day of eating and drinking in Brisbane as we wait for the Ashes to commence tomorrow.
While there are food joints, both casual and fine dining galore, here, I’ve stumbled across a few gems that I felt were worth mentioning.

Food malls are ten a penny, but my favourite at this stage is Broadway on the Mall –www.broadwayonthemall.com.au -where Purely Fresh served up the most incredible Leek and Potato dish accompanied by one of the tastiest and non-skimpy Caesar salads I’ve enjoyed in a long time- and all for AU$6.50!!

Dinner in Queen St mall, a former road that is now a pedestrian only thoroughfare through the centre of town, and a hub of dining and shopping, was enjoyed at Jimmy’s. A cute dining joint in the middle of the thoroughfare (i.e not in a shop or mall) where Moreton Bugs were on the menu, along with steaks, burgers and more. My Nasi Goreng had a good bit of spice in it, and was totally delicious – a massive helping for under AU$20.

Coffee Clubs can be found all over town. I tried the Caesar there again, but was disappointed – nice flavours, but skimpy on the bacon and parmesan! Their coffee is outstanding, though, both iced and hot.
Off to discover more now 🙂
